We are a research group studying the cognitive and computational underpinnings of decision confidence (i.e. metacognition) and cognitive control. We are part of the Brain and Cognition research unit, located at KU Leuven.
When making decisions, we experience a sense of confidence in the accuracy of this decision. We are interested in how this sense of confidence is used for cognitive optimization (e.g., maximizing gains while minimizing costs; often referred to as “cognitive control”). Using a mixture of carefully controlled behavioral experiments, computational modeling and neuroimaging recordings (M/EEG), we aim to reveal the underlying cognitive and neural architecture .
